They were born as a jazz group in 2017, after years of collaborations, in studio and on stage, with well-known artists in the music scene. The 'Three Generations Caligiuri, Tavolazzi, Capiozzo' (editor's note: the group takes its name from the age of the three members) are released today on the record market with the first work titled with their own name; the record represents 'a sort of personal journey that collects influences and legacies drawn from the international music scene, while at the same time trying to project itself into the future, keeping an eye on the past' (autographed declaration by the artists). Sons of the 'Area', and not just metaphorically speaking, the historical group that featured Maestro Ares Tavolazzi together with the great Demetrio Stratos and Giulio Capiozzo. LEO CALIGIURI (piano / keyboards / fluato) In 2009 he was co-founder of Altare Thotemico with whom he recorded two albums (MaRaCash Records). In 2013 the Calandra Trio was born, note the collaboration with Claudio Baglioni. ARES TAVOLAZZI: (double bass / electric bass) From 1974 to 1983 in the Area. CHRISTIAN "CHICCO" CAPIOZZO (drums / percussion) From 2002 he founded the first project in his name "Capiozzo & Mecco" (together with the organist Michele Guidi) making the first album in his name Whiskey Go Go (Irma records) .. Since 1998 he plays and records together with: Jimmy Owens, Trilok Gurtu, Enrico Rava, Pee Wee Ellis, Fabrizio Bosso, Jarrod Lawson, Thomas Brenneck, Stefano Di Battista, Jesse Davis, Area, Ernesticco Rodriguez, Karl Potter, Marco Tamburini, Flavio Boltro, Luca Sapio etc. stable by Mario Biondi with whom he records the album “Dare”. The Three Generations have been able to marry, with a solid jazz base, ethnic music, progressive, world music and classical melodies, all accompanied by sophisticated psychedelic interventions. The result, after three abundant years of painstaking work, is enclosed here. 'We are living in a historical moment in which we need this type of contamination; the musicians in the 70s lived together and the result was balanced from the start. Now achieving the same goal has become more tiring, 'the members of the group declare. The work is fluid and also allows itself to be more classic and melodic atmospheres, which are opposed to the pressing rhythms and technicalities (never ostentatious), thanks to the careful arrangements of a mature Ares Tavolazzi.
