Quintet based in Piedmont, Imagin'aria arrive on the fourth studio disc with "Progetto T.I.'A", a concept album inspired by a science-fiction story of the same name by the guitarist of the band G.Luca Milan. The stylistic coordinates are those to which our people have accustomed us, that is, progressive seventies that look at the present, not disdaining the modern prog currents that cross the old continent. Released for Ma.Ra.Cash Records, remember, winner of the "best label" category at the recent Progawards 2006, the record has its strong point in the emotional impact, although it does not disdain some instrumental passages that leverage the appearance. technical. Slightly dilated songs that immediately aim for substance, "light" sounds at the mercy of a subtle psychedelia that marries the romantic prog rock of clear albionic extraction, and frequent forays into current sound territories characterized by a "heavier" and angular groove. Sung entirely in Italian, "Progetto T.I.'A" is also affected by the long gestation time to which it was subjected. In fact, on more than one occasion, despite repeated listening, one gets the impression that the disc is dragging behind a sense of unnatural fullness, as if the absence of pauses was more an imposition during songwriting than a fluid writing, sliding. Which makes the CD a certain expression of a tiring and complex work, but at times composed "at the table". However, whimsical or not to say the will, the substance is that the work in question is thick, testifying to how our country in the progressive field has little to learn from bands across the border and more acclaimed (often wrongly). Imagin'aria have experience and talent, both virtues conveyed in a disc that is appreciated for its passionate and visionary temperament, and which claims to be nothing if not the ripe fruit of five guys who love what they play.
