"Piccoli Mondi" is the new album ready to be released. Nine tracks will lead us through a musical trip, a set of emotions and colours. This album sums up ten years of experiences, sharing, friendship and artistic maturity. Here the concept of “Fusion” is expressed in its very true meaning. The CD is a mix of Jazz-Rock, Prog and long fugues that sometimes snake in rough, psychedelic directions, sometimes they taste of warm, Mediterranean, nearly Latin flavours. Dynamic rhythms and funky verve match with progressive rarefactions and blood, bluesin’ shades. In two songs, timeless music is told by the warm, sensual voice of the singer Silvia Dalla Noce; once again two real pearls of great intensity.

In this album, a new element has joined the band: Fabio Fumagalli, a young, talented percussionist who has been able to enrich the sound with innovation and colourful touches. “Piccoli Mondi” is the natural sequel of “Pensieri Imperfetti”, a glance on the world, on the music differences (and not only), on the need to re-elaborate and build new forms and spaces of dialogues, essential condition for a constant development and growth.

The Freeway Jam were born in the summer of 2000, thanks to the meeting of 4 musicians with different experiences.

LUCA GRAMIGNOLI: He is a self-taught guitarist of post-Hendrix inspiration. He has a talent for improvisation. He founded the acidacoustic trio “Mistiche Lune”, well-known in the first half of the 1990s and he can boast several other live music experiences.

RENZO MARCHETTI: He is a self-taught drummer. Through Italy he has played completely different, musical genres, starting from Rock for arriving at Funky, Jazz-Rock and Progressive.

DAVIDE PAVESI: He is a keyboard player, who started his piano studies at the age of 9. At 15 he began to play in small, local groups for new, personal experiences. He loves Blues, Jazz music and with the Freeway Jam he has discovered the Progressive too.

DANILO SOMENZI: He is a bass player with a great experience thanks to his collaborations. He released 3 albums with the “Violenti Lune Elettriche”, a band famous in Italy at the beginning of the 1990s for its alternative, underground music. Nowadays, during The Freeway Jam’s performances, he often substitutes excellently the singer who collaborated on the CD.

The band’s path has been a natural fusion, a mixture of sounds and different genres (Progressive, Jazz-Rock, Fusion, Funk) as the name of the band suggests. The quartet needed a nonstop session, a musical comparison and dialogue. After a couple of years, that led them to record their first CD “Pensieri Imperfetti”, that is the Manifesto of a band that avoids clichés and models. They love testing themselves, building their musical future in a free way, without any preclusion. This first work was completely self-produced and distributed by a Milan based small record label. The CD was appreciated in Italy and especially overseas. The work was enriched by the collaboration of the saxophonist Adolfo Lombardi and Silvia Dalla Noce, a jazz singer from Cremona.
